I am requesting these materials for my deaf and hard of hearing students. Deaf and hard of hearing students often do not have access to learning in a language that they are able to understand.
With the help of these materials, students will be able to build a strong language foundation in a language they understand. These materials will help transitions within the classroom setting such as circle time at the new rug, practicing spelling using the bean bag letters, practicing signing sentences as they learn English and ASL in connection with each other. The barrier will provide students with less visual distractions as they continue to learn. The times with lights are to indicate when the activity is almost complete as they are unable to hear an audible timer.
