This reading rug would be a nice addition to my new classroom in our brand new school! It would give the students a place to relax and read independently or with a partner. Each day I use the "Daily 5" reading stations for my 90 minute reading block. The students would be able to sit on the rug during this time to read. I also teach a Geography unit each year. The students learn the "50 Nifty Song", memorize, recite, and locate all 50 states. This rug would be beneficial in helping the students learn the location of all the states.
