I teach two 6th grade STEM Social Studies classes and two 6th grade regular education classes. My students live in a rural county with about 20% of families living below the established poverty line. Approximately 75% of students in my school are eligible to receive free or reduced lunches.
My students are great kids who always come to school ready to learn. They are excited to learn about the ancient civilizations of our planet. Many of them, at the age of only 11, have seen and experienced challenges that most adults will never face. These kids deserve to have a school environment that is a safe and relaxing place where they can leave their worries outside the door.
