My students enjoying feeling like a family and having the whole class together. We currently come together on a small carpet remnant that is fraying. We do not all fit and students end up leaving the group to go back to their desks. This causes upset among the class and some feel like they are not included.
My class would like to learn like a large family and having a large rug to come together on would be beneficial to the entire class. We would use it all throughout the day for multiple learning experiences.
My class works well together so I could see this rug benefiting them when we are working as a whole class, in small group literacy circles, as well as small group math activities. It would also make a great stage area for readers theatre.
