At our school, we serve about 540 students K-5. A majority of the students receive free or reduced lunch, with many diverse backgrounds and needs. Based in the South Bronx, our students and families need more opportunities to be physically active, better access to healthy and nutritious foods, and more information and programs on developing healthy habits. Our schools NYC-FITNESSGRAM data shows that many of our students are not performing in the healthy fitness zones as established by the assessment. Our school believes in an individualized approach to physical education and this donation will allow every student involved to become his or her physical best.
