More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education.
Thank you for all you do to help teachers provided what is needed for their students. I have the amazing privilege of teaching the first, full time Forest Kindergarten class in our school. Students spend at least two hours each day, in all weather, in the forest behind our school. Through previous donations, students are equipped with winter coats, pants, and waterproof boots to keep them warm during cold weather. However, students do not have proper rain gear for rainy days.
We have an amazing classroom outdoors where children are allowed to explore, create, discover, and connect with nature. My Paraprofessional and I are present to supervise students explorations but we do not lead while in the woods. We encourage their enthusiasm and love for nature. In return, we are instilling a love of nature in children that will last a life time.
