With the use of headphones, each student will be given the opportunity to not be distracted by outside noises. Students will be able to draw in and focus at the task at hand. Students will be able to visualize the stories that are read or they are reading to themselves. If students had reading material read to them, the noise level in the classroom would be hard to concentrate. Students would become frustrated and distracted in minutes. Students would become restless and not engaged.
Students are also not feeling they are being rushed and are allowed to 'zone out' in a element that fits there pace of reading. All students are diverse learners in that working at there own pace helps for academic success.
