I use iPads and laptops daily to differentiate learning in the classroom. I have students using these devices all over the classroom and without headphones the learning starts to blend together, making it difficult for students to concentrate on their specific activity. The set of headphones will help my students stay focused in the blended learning environment. My students are also given the opportunity to move around the classroom to choose the learning environment that best fits their learning style and kinesthetic needs each day. Clipboards, lap desks and balance balls will help keep the students active and comfortable in the classroom.
"Teaching in the internet age means we must teach tomorrow's skills today." - Jennifer Fleming.
Our 21st century curriculum requires the use of technology in the classroom. Adding headphones to our existing technology will help my students get the most out of their time at school, while also increasing focus with flexible seating. Many of my students do not have access to computers or iPads at home, so it is important for us to maximize the time in the classroom to reach success. As a dedicated teacher and proud member of ATPE, I am excited to see these students thrive.
