My classroom is a place where great things happen!
When you walk into my classroom, you can feel the energy of the students' engagement in their learning. Students are working in pairs or small groups, at desks, tables, or on the floor. Desk and table surfaces are almost always covered with Dry Erase marker notes, diagrams, and examples.
Most of my lesson units are designed for students to have choices: which format to use for notes, which activities to do to practice new skills, how to demonstrate what they've learned. Within this environment of "Choice," my students move around the classroom freely, deciding where they want to work, and with whom.
My 4th graders learn how to monitor their own learning, how to work together and help one another, and how to be responsible classroom citizens.
