My students require engaging activities to keep them interested and motivated to learn. Right now, I do not have any technology in my classroom to use with my students. All of my students are special needs and many are nonverbal. Without technology, it is difficult to meet their unique learning needs and communicate effectively with them. My students are not yet able to work independently on teacher given tasks which makes academic time difficult. My students are all working on different skills so I have to work with each student individually. iPads would make individual instruction much easier because the students who I am not working with can work on specific apps that relate to their individual IEP goals. These iPads will also help my nonverbal students to communicate with me and their classmates. Having these iPads will positively impact my class so much because they will help to ensure that each and every one of my students is working towards their highest potential.
I am also asking for protective cases to make sure that these iPads last as long as possible, headphones to help my students focus on their own activity without getting distracted by the noise of another student's iPad, and a locking charging station to keep the iPads safe and ready to use every day.
Thank you so much for considering donating to my project! My students and I appreciate it more than you know!
