By having this project funded, read alouds for the entire school year will be available! It has been proven that when students are read to, their love of reading grows. An improvement in their vocabulary, fluency and comprehension has been proven in connection with read alouds as well. Read alouds help students build background knowledge on multiple subjects and helps them learn more about the world around them. These books cover a variety of topics (peace, kindness, the senses, animals, folktales, pattern books, childhood favorites, etc.). These books will help to bring the world around us into my classroom for many years to come!
