My students have asked me to help them start a student led book club and I cant wait to help them do so!
My budget will not cover the cost of all the books and if I were to ask the students to purchase their own, many of them would not be able to participate.
The first book that we are going to read is Nine, Ten: A September 11th Story. This book beautifully captures what is was like for children their age to cope with the tragic events of that day. It highlights what is was like for children from different races and backgrounds and how we need not hesitate to come to another mans aid when he is in need. Not only are the characters very relatable for the children, but it teaches them a lesson of empathy and kindness that should be instilled in everyone.
