My hope is that by tuning into how students learn best, they will become advocates for themselves and take ownership of their learning. During independent work times, my students are able to move about the room. Many students like to sit on the floor and work using clipboards, use wobble stools at their desks, or sit on a cushioned bench for a quieter area.
My students need various flexible seating options to use in order to foster choice, movement, sense of community, and sensory input. I have noticed an amazing difference in my students when they are provided with choice. They are more engaged and get more work completed when they are more comfortable than sitting in a chair all day long. The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional seating options to make more effective learning choices.
