I teach English to freshman and junior students at a school that resides with a high portion of low income households. My class is designed to help them improve their reading and writing while gaining skills to succeed in future English classes, college courses, and careers. Many of our students come from underprivileged families that struggle to afford essential school supplies among other things. As a result, it is challenging for them to succeed without the proper materials. Some come from other countries or are currently facing difficult challenges in their lives. Our school focuses on making sure students have the education they need in order to become better citizens in the future. In fact our school beats the odds by ranking #24 by US News as one of the leading highs schools in the entire state of Arizona. By showing them generosity, it will help positively influence their lives.
