It is important that the books children read in and outside of the classroom reflect and honor the lives of all young people. Our diversity library is going to be a place where students can not only experience other cultures but see themselves reflected in the stories. Books can act like both mirrors and windows of the world. The books were all carefully selected to be a source of inspiration and wonder.
My hope is that these books by and about diverse communities can positively open their minds to things that they may never have been exposed to.
