Each week I plan my lessons according to the resources I have available. Recently, while planning my instruction around 2 working class computers, I discovered all of our middle school math material had an interactive version of the assignment we had been completing. I realized I could use the interactive version for whole group instruction; however, to be able to adequately differentiate these lessons I need to be able to assign students material individually. The Chromebooks will enable 5 students at a time to work on their interactive lessons. These lessons are unlike any "worksheet" or "drill and kill" strategy. The interactive sessions show students if the problem is correct or incorrect immediately! Further, the interactive session will give them examples of similar problems, work the problem out step-by-step, and has a video tutor if the student is completely stuck. I have already purchased the license for this product, and I use it as often as possible. The Chromebooks will enable me to allow more students with educational needs to work through tough problems as I assist other students in a one-on-one setting. With my personal funds, I have purchased 25 headphones for each student in my class. We are just waiting on our Chromebooks!
