My students are growing kids! They are at school from 7:25am until 2:47pm and some later for after school activities. Many of our students are coming to school hungry, which in turn affects their ability to learn. They need snacks that can help them fill their bellies! They need healthier alternatives than flamin' hot cheetos, takis, and gatorade (typical middle school choice for a snack).
They work hard, and at times need a 'pick me up" snack to keep their momentum going. Having healthy fuel gives them the stamina to work though hard tests questions, challenging work, and continued literacy skills.
