Our school is situated in a small rural community in California. Many of our students are migrant, and our student participation in the free and reduced breakfast/lunch program is effectively 100%. Until recently, our population of English Learners was over 75%, but we are making gains in that area. Because of the language barriers they face, many students read and write below their grade level.
