My students are 5 and 6 year old energetic children who are creative, excited about learning, and come from several diverse home environments, each of those environments providing them with different experiences and background knowledge. Our public school serves just under 500 students; many of those are English Language Learners and come from low income families. The everyday objects and concepts I refer to and want to teach can be difficult for my students to understand without the use of visuals. My students know my classroom and our school is a safe environment where they will be provided with many learning opportunities. My students look forward to each and every day in the classroom.
