My students' love for reading is unmatched in any school setting I've ever taught in. Their desire to become stronger readers is shown day-in and day-out when they beg for access to my small classroom library I've personally purchased.
Their appetite for books that they have hand-picked can only be satisfied by works of literature that are of a challenging level that push their daily thinking and encourage them to think outside of the box.
All of the books have been hand-selected by my classes and all have many things in common: the books are culturally relevant giving students the chance to see themselves in pieces of literature, the books push their worldview to create conscientious global citizens and the books are engaging, thus encouraging them to read, baby, read!
