Thank you so much for visiting my donors choose page! I'm Carol Acree, Biology and Chemistry teacher at David Douglas High School in Portland, Oregon. DDHS is the largest high school in Oregon with just over 3,000 students. Over my 15 years of teaching, I have never worked with a more diverse student population than the students at DDHS. Over 60 languages are spoken here. Our students, administrators, teachers, and staff have done a remarkable job creating a culture where diversity is respected and differences are celebrated. I want to give my students what they deserve-the best hands-on, relevant, and rigorous education and a curriculum in which English Language Learners AND gifted students can thrive.
