I have approximately 56 6th grade Science and Math students. We are a heterogeneous group, consisting pretty equally of all races and socioeconomic groups. We are a public magnet school. Magnet has helped to generate interest in our schools as it has attracted students from other districts. Our particular school has about 600 students. Our staff sets high expectations for all students and we are committed to student centered, hands on as much as possible, and project based learning. We, as a school, do not use textbooks or basal readers. We rely on technology and classroom libraries to mold learning.
