With technology growing and changing everyday, there are some really amazing applications and websites being created that can help facilitate students' learning while keeping them interested. Some students really enjoy having an actual book in their hands while they read, while others may fall bored and become distracted. My goal is to keep them interested in reading and help them strengthen the language arts skills they will need throughout their lives.
I want to provide as many different types of resources to my students' fingertips as possible and with all the educational programs online, the possibilities are endless.
Why not bring reading, writing, practicing and problem solving to my students in the form that they love? A 10'' inch Retina screen!
I am asking for funds to purchase a set of 5 iPads to use in the class room. The reason I am asking for 5 is that most likely my classroom will have 17-20 students. Aside from having the opportunity to work on the iPad's individually, I wanted to provide students with the chance to work in groups with the iPads, which would mean about 5 groups of 4 students. This opens up another set of activities we can do together. The students can engage in review games together as teams and they will be able to chime in their answer via iPad or do research as a team for an upcoming literature project. My students are also required to use a program called MyOn on a daily basis, so these would be a great help to making sure they are getting the reading exposure on their level each day.
