Being a first year teacher, I have limited classroom supplies and center options. These items would build a dramatic play center and our science and nature center, two very important areas for preschool development. In the short three-hour time frame I have them, they are required 60 minutes of active play. The centers are a place of play and exploration while learning important everyday skills.In dramatic play, they are learning to share, how to be social, problem solving, and working together for a common goal. They are also learning the world around them and the ability to express creativity in a safe and appropriate environment. The items I am requesting would promote this type of play, with the pretend food and cooking supplies to go with the kitchen set to create a real life kitchen. I also have requested a doctor and vet kit, post office, cash register for career exploration. In the Science area, we hope to study our outside world a little more with a bug kit, and magnetic wands. 4-year-olds are at the perfect age, with their open-mind and willingness to explore and learn. We have the power to unlock the love of learning for their future. These items will help me create a better learning environment for them!
