The items on our wish list (mainly math manipulatives) are to be used by the students to help them understand concepts while doing their activities. These items can be used as a whole group, where I project onto the screen, and continue the lesson. They can be used within groups as extension activities for the quick finishers, and they can be used independently. I would also like to use them during our learning academies for the students who just need a little bit more time to fully understand the concept. These manipulatives are convenient and can be used over and over and reduce paper waste.
I did also include white erase boards because a lot of times I try to avoid paper waste. The students have been preparing all year for their STAAR test (which will be an online test) and it just makes sense for the students to keep practicing strategies that will not require them to use paper, in turn, helping reduce paper waste. Our school focuses on sustainability and this will help reduce waste. By donating to this project, you will greatly improve and increase student understanding to master their academic goals.
