We start our Spanish classes each day with reading time. Students select a few books they find interesting, and settle into their chairs to read for a few minutes. This reading time helps them to develop their skills in a second language by exposing them to vocabulary in stories. They'll remember these words and use them later because they learned them in the context of a story. Students need many books to choose from because they do not all enjoy the same types of stories and books. All of my students deserve to be able to read something they enjoy.
