Students who have experienced trauma have high anxiety and/or high stress. Anxiety and stress interfere with a students learning. Due to the anxiety and stress they are easily triggered and behaviors escalate.
High anxiety and stress are daily struggles that all of my students experience because they have been through a traumatic event and are in a hospital setting. These sensory items will help decrease their anxiety and create a calming feeling so they may participate in school and experience success in an environment that is away from their home.
