My students are the most motivated, creative, passionate, and endearing students that I have ever had the honor of teaching. My school houses three grades. Within these grades, we have several different programs to meet the needs of our inner-city population. Our Title 1 school contains several specialized programs that include: the Specialized Autism Program, the Independent Learning Program, Gifted and Talented Education, and AVID to mention a few. Each of these programs and services brings its own set of individual needs. I have the unique opportunity to teach in two of these programs: AVID and Gifted and Talented Science. My students amaze and astonish me every day with their zest for learning, their need to overcome their circumstances, and their struggle to succeed in a rigorous program. If one ever needs to see what a quality student looks like, one would only need to look inside the door of my classroom.
