My classroom is 1-to-1 with Chromebooks. Allowing each student to have a pair of headphones would allow me to incorporate more learning opportunities for each student. Some lessons may require them to watch a video and take notes or respond in writing. Some students can use a program like Reading Eggs/Eggspress to help them learn foundational literacy skills needed to succeed in reading and writing. Other students enjoy listening to books being read GetEpic.com. The possibilities would be endless if each student had a set of headphones.
If each student has a set of headphones that they can use with their Chromebook, it would allow me to set up numerous lessons and learning centers to meet each of their learning needs.
