My students are fifth graders in a low socioeconomic area in Nevada. They have very few school supplies and resources of their own. They cherish books and love to read. Many of my students are Hispanic and are continuing to learn or just learning English. My students are the happiest students, yet they face some challenges most would never think possible.
My goal is to give my students the opportunity to learn information through reading. With the book I chose it is about how students around the world get books to ready. I want my students to see how lucky they are to have a classroom full of books, and a library on campus. This book would also lend itself to a wonderful research project.
