Many of my third graders need to move. Their lifestyles are busy. In a traditional classroom, they are often distracted from learning. This leads to behavior and academic issues. The Kore wobble stools will allow my students to channel their extra energy while being able to focus on their learning. It will allow them to stay seated instead of the standing up and down. Allowing them to have this structured movement will keep the students from distracting their classmates. The stability balls will give another option to my students who have extra energy. The balls can be used at their desk or easily moved around the room for partner or group work. Lastly, the Big Joe Bean Bag chair will be used for my students to relax while doing activities like reading or journal writing.
As a teacher, it is important that I provide tools to help all my students learn. I feel like these alternative seating options will take my students focus off their movements and put it on their learning. Their extra movements and energy will be channeled into the moving on the stools, chair and balls. This will keep all students focused the most important thing, learning.
