Differentiated instruction is a necessity in the classroom. It makes no difference if you teach 25 kids or 120 kids - each and every one deserves the best education. This is my mission: to give my kids the education they deserve. Last year, my partner teacher and I took our curriculum and leveled 80% of the materials to our students learning ability and educational needs. We were given a small group set of iPads that became invaluable in meeting the expansive needs of our students. Due to budget cuts, we no longer have those devices available to us on a daily basis. I have requested one iPad in order to support my students.
My students love to learn and technology allows me to bring learning to their level. My room is a place for them to be empowered and achieve levels of learning they did not realize were possible for them to reach. I see over 100 kids a day, many of which need me on a one-to-one basis that I cannot always provide. Having at least one iPad would be a huge step for me in my path of providing my students the education that they deserve.
