I work in the Media Center at a Title I school that houses students from the poorest zip code in the state of Florida. Many of our students struggle to find resources for basic needs - including food, dental and medical care, shelter, and hygiene. Our school is a Community Partnership School, which assists students with finding resources to fill these needs. Because these students struggle so much in their home environment, they come to school with a tremendous academic disadvantage, more so than some of the other Title I schools in our area. The students are grateful for all the opportunities provided for them at school and thrive off the love and affection they receive from the teachers and administrators. My school is a wonderful place to work and an even better place for the students to learn.
