Students are learning to see things and create three dimensionally but we don't have complete supplies. We will be making animals, relief sculpture, mobiles and much more if supplies come in.
For example, students will learn about space and form with the yarn for sculpting mobiles by wrapping it around balloons and letting it harden with glue. This will create web like spheres and then we pop the balloons. They will hang in groupings from the ceiling in different sizes and colors. We will show them examples of famous mobile artists like Alexander Calder to teach them about various mobile examples.
We requested special glue for paper mache to make human figures in action. The Aluminum sheets will become embossed relief sculptures decorating student made forms. We have a whole semester of projects planned and are just using cardboard from the cafeteria right now. We would love to teach them about different artists and techniques with our new supplies.
