The books will be placed into our classroom library. The students will get to visit the books daily during reading centers. Leveled books will engage the students and will allow the students to read books on their level. Students need to be able to have choices of books on their reading level.
Reading books take students on adventures! I want my students to see the world is bigger than the community around them. Reading books is the beginning of being successful students Learning to read at an early age helps to make future years in school easier. Reading is vital for all curriculum areas.
Character Building Day by Day and other books selected for this project will be used during whole group read aloud as a foundation for discussion about tolerance and accepting of differences and individuals. Students will be given the opportunity to explore their own differences as they compare themselves to the characters in the books.
