Every year, my students are tasked with reading 30 books at home. We normally meet in the school library and have snacks while we discuss the books we've read. We talk about our favorite characters, make connections with other books, and encourage each other to read the book they are currently reading.
Right now, our school doesn't have the funds to buy these books for our students. I would love for my students to have these titles at home to read while our schools are still closed. While we can't meet in the library right now, we can still meet online to have our "book talks."
This will make it feel like our students are still doing their usual things, despite the pandemic.
