At our middle school, every two classrooms share a Chromecart housing 25 Chromebooks. What this means is only 2 1/2 days each week, we have access to technology. Another unfortunate situation is there are 27 students in my class, meaning that two of my students still do not have computer access even on those days when we have the use of technology.
However, with these five additional Chromebooks, not only will we have enough computers for my entire class at one time, but we will have five computers that stay in my classroom at all times. With these five full time Chromebooks in our classroom, each student team can have access to internet information all the time. During rotation time, five students can practice keyboarding skills while the other groups are working on different activities. We no longer will have to schedule for use of technology. We can count on it being available all of the time. You never know when we might just need to look up something about those meerkats!
