Last year was my first at CHS and I quickly found wonderful student willingness to use their art for a purpose. Following the legacy of the Empty Bowls Project, we held an event we named "Clay for a Cause" during our school-wide visual art show. Money raised from donations for the student created ceramic bowls was given to the local food bank.
This pottery wheel will enable more students to gain experience with throwing and increase the quality of work available for the "Clay for a Cause" event this year.
Beyond this opportunity, our program is growing as we add Ceramics ll classes this year. This equipment will play a vital role in students working as artists developing their own ideas through personal work.
