I am a development preschool teacher at Union Elementary School which is in Tolleson, Arizona, which is in the suburbs of Phoenix, Arizona. All my students are between the ages of 3-to-5-year-old with different needs and abilities. Many of our families struggle to make ends meet, have single parent homes, and are not able to provide many of the supplies their child needs at school. We are a Kid At Hope school which means we instill in each child that we believe in them, they can learn, and be successful. Everyday we recite the Kid At Hope pledge. Teachers are referred to as Treasure Hunters and the students are the treasure. As a teacher or Treasure Hunter, I made a commitment to encourage and motivate my students to become lifelong learners.
