Flexible seating allows students to choose where they work and with whom. It also allows them to change their location and positions as needed. Children need to move. Flexible seating allows them to wobble, rock, bounce, lean or stand, which increases oxygen flow to the brain, blood flow and core strength. Flexible seating benefits are profound, due to the fact that the classroom is reorganized to make it more student-centered. The yoga balls, wobble chairs, and butterfly chairs are just the beginning to create the student centered positive learning environment for my Exceptional Student Education (ESE) students. Giving them this opportunity will increase their focus and academic achievement!
