My students are special needs kiddos in 3rd-5th grade. They are hands on learners and need lots of practice with daily life skills. I try to find new and creative ways to teach academics and life skills so that each child can participate and learn in his or her own way. My students spend time in the general education setting as well as time in my classroom where I focus on pre-teaching, teaching, and re-teaching skills. Our lessons incorporate core content, life skills, communication, and motor skills. My dream is that I give my students the tools and skills they need to be as independent as they can be.
