I teach 10th and 11th grade English at an Early College in Western North Carolina. The majority of my students are first generation college students who will receive their diploma and two year associate degree in five years of school. Our school is small with only 200 students which means that our school budget is even smaller. My classroom size is small with only 20 students which allows me to offer a lot of small group active learning strategies.
