I am thrilled to be in my ninth year of teaching and my second year teaching in a Spanish dual immersion program.
My incredible bilingual students are incredibly bright, caring, and have bold personalities! About half of my students are classified as English Language Learners and come from many different linguistic, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds. The majority of my students qualify for free or reduced lunch and I have several students whose families have immigrated to the United States within one generation.
My goal for this year of teaching is to foster community in my classroom and help my students become strong communicators and critical thinkers. I also want my students to continue fueling their passions in reading, writing, science, social studies, and math. Finally, I want to encourage my students to take pride in their bilingual and biliterate abilities!
