C. Elementary is a title 1 school in which all students are on a free lunch. In years past, we have been an IR (Improvement Required) school labeled by TEA. In 2018, we were finally able to get out of the stages of IR. Our school still has a long way to go to improve. I personally believe that by adding more technology into the mix, that will continue to help our school and community. Adding Chromebooks to my classroom will help students during ELAR stations. We are currently pushing blended learning in our school which will allow students to be working online on particular concepts. By pushing blended learning, it not only allows students to build 21st-century skills, but it also creates engagement in the classroom.
When the students are engaged, knowledge is retained. In currently have access to 5 desktop computers and 4 workable Ipads. The students can have access to the computer lab if they come in early at 7:30. I want my students to be able to access Google Classroom from anywhere in the building. Because we are going flipped, it is imperative that students are accessing their online work. This will allow them to do that on the go before or after school.
