In the 21st century, my students need Chromebooks to conduct research, explore educational websites, increase literacy by reading online books, collaborate globally, interact with other diverse learners, take virtual reality field trips, and practice key skills in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics. Chromebooks will allow technology to be integrated into lessons across the curriculum.
In my classroom of twenty-two students, we only have one desktop in the classroom and that must be shared. Technology is an intricate part of our daily lives, so my students need continuous opportunities to engage with it, so that they are proficient users. Chromebooks are needed for small group instruction, differentiation, online assessments, completion of online reading comprehension stories and questions, to play educational games, and view educational videos or tutorials on websites such as Brainpop, Moby Max, Read Works, NewsELA, Khan Academy, Quizizz, Kahoot, Ereading, Tumblebooks, Spelling City the History channel, and for the Georgia Milestones practice. Chromebooks will make learning engaging, help students learn at their own pace and improve comprehension in a digital world.
