One of the best things about second grade is our comprehensive and cross-curricular bird study! As we go on walks in our neighborhood and surrounding parks, our students will use binoculars to learn about birds in an up-close and personal way! The Birds of New York guide and binoculars will engage students in identifying the birds they see and then learn more about their identifying marks, their migration, and how the birds live in a big city just like them! Our second graders get to interact with science in their neighborhood to learn how to identify birds by their traits.
