My students attend a public school in a high needs district. 62% of our population is low income and 53% have a limited English proficiency. Currently, in my classroom we have 12 students working 2-4 years below grade level. They all have IEP goals for fluency and comprehension as well as adding and subtracting multi-digit numbers, and counting coins/making change. These are skills that not only affect their education but are key to success in the real world as well.
