I am an ATPE member who teachers science and STEM to a classroom full of excited to learners. I work at a Title 1 school with a lot of diversity, but not a lot of luxuries. We enjoy doing as many hands on activities as we can each week because movement is crucial in a child's learning.
I work hard to make sure my students have a complete understanding of science, STEM, and all their surroundings. We learn through movement and labs because we are able to discuss what we are doing with our peers. Our classroom is loud with a lot of movement, but we have A LOT of learning going on at all times. We enjoy asking questions and love trying to find the answer to "why" on our own rather than relying on our teacher to give us the answers. We think it's more fun to learn by trail and error rather than have things handed to us.
