Jumping Rope is one of the easiest ways to develop coordination. Especially because my students are constantly growing in height. I plan to use this equipment as an aerobic exercise as well. The microphone and music will enhance my lessons and encourage more participation. Imagine a fitness class at a gym. I'll incorporate mini sessions of arm up and aerobic fitness into my physical education lesson.
Learning organized sports is a struggle for 2nd and 3rd grades. This equipment will provide easier sports that I currently do not have the equipment needed to teach effectively. Adding kickball and volleyball will add variety to my program. Being that my school is low academically, many of my students are older. My students need specialized equipment that is also durable. I also have a class of students with behavior, mental, and emotional disorders. This will allow more options for play in an environment that is restricted due to safety concerns.
