We use sports to expose inner city scholar-athletes to cultures, education, and careers around this country. For exposure this year, we will travel to Tampa Bay, Florida to participate in the Tampa Bay Christmas Invitational. During which, our scholar athletes will be exposed to the college coaches, universities, career opportunities and cultures of the South Florida area. This four-day trip will require a charter bus service for transportation. This service will transport the team to Tampa for games, college campus tours, cultural exposure events, and back to Memphis. Games for the Tampa Bay Invitational begin December 27 where our team will play at 10:30 am. This tournament will draw college coaches from across the state of Florida, Louisiana, Georgia, and other surrounding states. This opportunity expands our student-athletes’ chances for basketball scholarships. While in Tampa, we are scheduled to tour the campus of the University of South Florida and meet the basketball coaches and staff. The coaching staff will talk with our athletes on what is required to be a student-athlete at the University of South Florida. In additions to playing in the games and college tours, we will visit and understand some of the career opportunities of the south Florida area.
